Position Description

The Creative Director will be a visionary leader who will build, lead, and scale a high-performing creative team specializing in performance-driven campaigns and multimedia for a fast-paced travel digital marketing agency.

This role requires a creative visionary who can define and steward the agency’s brand and creative philosophy for travel marketing, drive exceptional client outcomes through compelling visual storytelling and design, and develop proprietary competitive differentiators that set Propellic apart.

The ideal candidate will be a master of their craft, with a strong portfolio of creative work that demonstrates a deep understanding of brand strategy, art direction, and visual design. They will be a passionate and inspiring leader, capable of fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and excellence.

This role is critical in building a scalable, high-performing team while refining creative service offerings and implementing advanced technologies that maximize quality, flexibility, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Strategy & Brand Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a distinctive and compelling creative philosophy and brand strategy for the agency, tailored to the travel and tourism industry.

  • Lead the development of creative and visual guidelines to ensure a consistent and elevated brand identity for global and enterprise travel clients.

  • Provide art direction and creative leadership on all projects, from initial concept to final execution.

  • Drive the creative vision for the agency, ensuring that all creative outputs are aligned with the client brand strategies and business objectives.

Leadership & Department Growth:

  • Build and scale a high-performing creative department, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, rigor, and accountability.

  • Define and optimize service offerings, pricing models, and production workflows to maximize scalability, flexibility, and client value.

  • Own and manage the department’s P&L, ensuring efficiency, sustainable investment, and creative-driven revenue growth.

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to recruit, onboard, train, and retain top tier creative, production, and technology talent.

Creative Execution & Innovation:

  • Lead the development of performance-optimized creative assets, including video, for use across paid, organic, and owned media channels.

  • Ensure creative work is data-informed, platform-optimized (Meta, YouTube, TikTok, Programmatic

  • Display, etc.), and client-aligned, driving tangible marketing results.

  • Implement continuous testing and optimization processes for creative assets to enhance ROI and performance benchmarks.

  • Lead the integration of emerging technologies (including AI-driven tools) into creative development processes to drive speed, personalization, and innovation.

Client & Stakeholder Management:

  • Serve as the senior creative strategic lead across key accounts, ensuring seamless integration of creative strategies with broader marketing initiatives.

  • Establish strong, consultative relationships with clients, proactively identifying creative opportunities that drive growth and differentiation.

  • Partner with paid media, SEO, and account management teams to develop holistic campaign strategies that maximize client outcomes.

  • Present creative strategies, insights, and performance results to clients and internal leadership, ensuring alignment with client goals and agency objectives.

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

  • 8+ years of experience in creative leadership roles, ideally within digital marketing agencies or in-house travel/tourism marketing teams.

  • A strong portfolio of creative work, with examples relevant to the industry, demonstrating expertise in brand strategy, art direction, and visual design.

  • Proven expertise in scaling creative teams, managing creative operations, and overseeing multimedia productions.

  • Demonstrated success in P&L ownership and building profitable, scalable creative departments.

  • Ability to source, hire, and cultivate exceptional creative talent that aligns with client needs and fuels future growth.

  • Strong working knowledge of performance marketing principles across paid social, search, video, and programmatic platforms.

  • Familiarity with AI tools for creative development (e.g., Runway, Midjourney, Descript, ElevenLabs) and experience operationalizing AI into production workflows.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. A portfolio submission is required for consideration for this role.

Preferred:

  • Experience with international tourism marketing and multi-language creative development.

  • Deep network of travel-focused creative and multimedia production vendors and contractors.

  • Expertise in data-driven creative testing and optimization.
