Massage
Massage improves the circulation of blood bringing oxygen and nutrients to the bones. It can reduce joint stiffness and pain. As the muscles become more flexible, joint movement increases. Some massage movements relax and stretch muscles, reducing muscular tension and cramp.
Massage may help the body in many ways by relaxing muscle tissue which can lead to decreased nerve compression, improve range of motion and therefore improved muscle and joint function.

Contra-indications
What is a contra-indication? A contra-indication is a reason not to massage. For example if you are receiving any medical treatment or taking any medication there may be health reasons we cannot proceed with a massage. If you are unsure as to whether any treatment you are receiving will affect you having a massage with us please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Aftercare
Following your massage you need to ensure you drink plenty of water. If you feel groggy at any point after your massage, it will be because you haven’t had enough water to assist with flushing out the toxins released by the massage. It is best to avoid smoking, drinking alcohol, carbonated drinks, tea and coffee, heavy work, heavy lifting and eating chocolate for two to six hours after your massage. If you can manage to completely rest for an hour or so after your massage this will be of great benefit.
